ABOUT OFFICE OF POTUS

About Office of POTUS:

“I do, solemnly swear, that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Office of POTUS (President of the United States) is a website about history, politics, and the forty four men (so far they have all been men) who have served as President of the United States. The goal of this website is to put the actions of the current president, and candidates for president, in their historical contexts. This website will also try to answer some essential questions:

  • What does America’s choice for President say about our society?
  • What qualities have made people “successful” presidents?
  • Are some of the problems and challenges faced by the current president new? Or have they been around for years?
  • What are we looking for as we choose the next President of the United States?

This website is non-partisan. It takes the perspective that studying history is the best way to understand current events.
